Our Work

Here are some photos and reviews of our empathetic experience.

Reviews

Depth and Breadth: You used the desk research methods that we covered in class well to investigate your topic and helped others to understand the complexity of the problem. I would have liked to see the team dig into some additional research to support the scope and financial impacts of your challenge, however you did a great job with your initial findings and they are compelling in their effect to engender support and engagement from your audience. The way you presented your work was very engaging and thought-provoking.

Visual Language: Great job with your visuals, both with your exhibit and with your catalogue. The images were powerful and communicated well the challenges and broader issues associated with your project. The level of effort and creativity in developing an interactive video game for your exhibit was apparent as well, and as a communication and empathy tool did a good job in illustrating the challenges of securing water and how much effort goes into accessing this fundamental resource on a daily basis. In addition to your team exhibit, the team website looks professional, is well organized, and the content clean and proofed.

Leadership: I can appreciate the team’s approach in examining multiple leaders and their roles in the water crisis. You did a good job providing context on the leaders, while also including an analysis of their leadership characteristics and the role they are playing in solving the problem. I also like how the team included multiple organizations who are also working towards addressing this issue and providing links for users to engage with at their leisure.

Storytelling: All together, you did a great job telling a cohesive and compelling story through your experience and your catalogue. You combined a variety of tangible artifacts for multiple audience types - which is definitely above and beyond. I thought the combination of your catalogue, the experience tunnel, water bucket, and video game was a compelling collection of activities and components that worked cohesively to communicate the story of your challenge and was exemplar in its ability to create a sense of empathy in your audience.

Collaboration: From what I observed, your team appeared to work well together. You brought in work in a timely manner and were always prepared for the next in-class steps. I look forward to your personal assessments of your collaboration. Be sure to think about both what went well, and how you might improve things the next time you are working in a team.

Overall, your team did high-quality work and produced high-quality deliverables. I was engaged in your story through your experience, sculptures, and your catalogue and learned a lot. Great job!
